IN MEMORIAM – DR. PETER TRAMPUS

Dr. Peter Trampus, Chairman of TC17 and President of the Hungarian Society for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) has died on Thursday 19 June 2025. His departure is a significant loss for the ESIS and entire international NDT community. Dr. Trampus was a distinguished engineer, professor, and visionary leader whose work left a lasting mark on the development and advancement of NDT across Europe and beyond. He played a key role in the creation, development, and successful implementation of the RIMA programme in the field of NDT in Europe, achieving significant progress in standardization and quality across the sector. He was also a driving force and leader of the NDT Academia, an initiative aimed at elevating training and technical expertise in the field. Beyond his technical achievements, Dr. Trampus was a vital supporter of ICNDT, contributing generously and with great dedication to many international initiatives. His legacy will live on in the collaborative spirit and advancements that now define the global NDT community. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family. His memory and contributions will continue to inspire future generations.
