Aleksandar Sedmak Turkey 2nd International Workshop on Plasticity, Damage and Fracture of Engineering Materials (Online) 18-20 August 2021, Ankara, TURKEY The 2nd International Workshop on Plasticity, Damage and Fracture of Engineering Materials was held on August 18-20 virtually from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. The meeting was organized and chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tuncay Yalcinkaya (METU) and supported by Dr. Mehmet Dorduncu from Erciyes University and Mr. Orhun Bulut, Mr. Can Erdogan and Mr. Izzet Tarik Tandogan from Middle East Technical University, with 46 scientists from 21 different countries in the Scientific Committee. The 3 days meeting hosted 8 invited plenary lecturers from 6 different countries: ‐ Prof. Laura De Lorenzis, ETH Zürich, Switzerland. ‐ Prof. Odd Sture Hopperstad, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway. ‐ Prof. Erdogan Madenci, University of Arizona, USA. ‐ Prof. Emilio Martínez Pañeda, Imperial College London, UK. ‐ Prof. Dierk Raabe, Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung GmbH, Germany. ‐ Prof. Timon Rabczuk, Bauhaus University Weimar, Germany. ‐ Prof. Javier Segurado Escudero, IMDEAMaterials, Spain. ‐ Prof. Huseyin Sehitoglu, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, USA. whose contributions are published on the workshop website: http://iwpdf.metu.edu.tr/ Moreover, there were 35 contributed live talks and 50 pre-record YouTube presentations published on: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEZJbh VVzWbYfg57XQKTum73W9luENlW1 117 researchers from 28 different countries participated in the meeting and 258 authors contributed to the Book of Abstracts. 35 selected papers have been frwarded to Elsevier for the special issue in Procedia Structural Integrity journal after the peer-review process. The meeting was organized smoothly on Zoom platform, the abstract submission was handled through google forms and for the paper submission and review the easychair system was used. The workshop program was prepared considering the time zones of the participants from allover the world and the schedule was followed perfectly. All in all, the workshop was quite successful with fruitful discussions and received various appreciations from the participants.
